Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from a diverse ethnic background. Jacqueline's father Elroy is a Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is a Malaysian. Her brothers are elder and two younger brothers. In the 1980s, her parents fled to Bahrain due to civil unrest in Sri Lanka. As a result, she was both born and raised there. The scholarship she received allowed her to study at in the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia following the completion of her education in Bahrain. A lover of cultures as well as languages, she enrolled in Berlitz Language School where she studied Spanish as well as enhancing her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006. She also competed as Miss Universe 2006 also. Following her winning the 2006 Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone stepped into the world of television and hosted a program about Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone has a daughter with the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone. She was brought up in Bangalore and was born in Copenhagen. In her teens, she played in national level badminton events, but she backed off the sport to become an artist. Padukone is from Mangalorean heritage Her mother language is Konkani. Her family tree is rooted in Padukone village located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District in Karnataka, the Indian state. Karnataka, India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international badminton champion who retired. Her mom is a travel agent.
